Panama Canal Day

Getting out of town was tricky again due to closed streets and Holiday Parades. We ubered to the canal. We got there at like 9 and it was disappointing to hear that boats don’t go through until 2:00. We walked around, looked at exhibits and got to watch an IMax movie about the canal narrated by Morgan Freman. It was so interesting and informative. So many moving pieces to accomplish this amazing structure. So many people, countries, and sciences working to make this happen. They had to come up with a cure for malaria/yellow fever because so many workers were dying! If you have a chance I highly recommend seeing it.

Then back through the celebrations. We checked out some shops and rooftop bars.

We ended up feeling an earthquake! It was mild and quick. A 3.4 and I don’t think we have known if the server didn’t tell us. He described it as the building got a little punch. I am sad to leave this beautiful city and would love to return.

I forgot to mention our French breakfast with a chocolate almond croissant and coffee.
