It was a 25 hour travel day! We left MSP, went to Montreal, then Bogata, and finally here. We had 4 hour layovers and get lots of steps in.
We arrived at noonish. Checked in to our hotel, Sonesta, showered, napped, and chilled for a bit. Then we went out exploring. Cusco is a lot to take in. It is beautiful, there are mountains, lots of historic churches and Inca ruins, lots of vendors trying to see anything from their paintings, dolls, colorful fabrics and spa experiences to name a few. David doesn’t make eye contact, I try to make eye contact and say no thank you. It gets tiring, and he gets annoyed but so be it!Also they really like to honk their horns! I will try to tape it to show you tomorrow.
Learned the hard way. We stopped at an Irish pub for a snack and drink. I wanted chips and guacamole but it wasn’t on the menus. Our server said we could and what do we get… fries and guacamole!
We had a lovely dinner at a little place called Tatay Cuy. They serve traditional Peruvian dishes like ginnea pig and alpaca. David was worried !! We had a lovely chicken curry dish.
